Positive Behaviour Support with Mindhaven Care

What it is

About Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred, evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours of concern rather than simply responding to the behaviour itself.

At Mindhaven Care, we work closely with participants, families, carers and support teams to identify the factors contributing to behaviours of concern and develop practical strategies that promote safety, independence and meaningful participation in everyday life.

Our goal is to improve quality of life by building skills, strengthening communication, and reducing the need for restrictive practices wherever possible.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Positive Behaviour Support funded by the NDIS?

Positive Behaviour Support is generally funded under the Improved Relationships Capacity Building budget. If you're unsure whether your plan includes funding, our team can help you understand your available supports.

What is a Functional Behaviour Assessment?

A Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) helps identify why behaviours of concern occur by exploring the factors that influence and maintain the behaviour. The information gathered is then used to develop an effective Behaviour Support Plan.

Who is involved?

The participant is always at the centre of the process. Depending on the individual's circumstances, we may also work alongside families, carers, support workers, schools, allied health professionals and other members of the participant's support network.

Do you provide both Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans?

Yes. Where appropriate, we provide both Interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans in accordance with NDIS requirements.

Ready to get started?

Send us the participant's details and we'll come back to you with availability and next steps.
